How to sell safe

If you discover a product you sell/sold poses a health or safety risk to consumers, you MUST act immediately:

Stop Sales & Secure Stock

Immediately remove the product from sale and isolate any remaining stock.

Notify Manufacturer/Importer

Verify KEBS Standardization Marks to ensure the product meets Kenyan Standards. (Link to Verify)

Initiate or Cooperate with a Recall

If a recall is necessary, either initiate it yourself or cooperate with the manufacturer/importer’s recall efforts.

Provide Clear Return Instructions

Create clear, easy-to-understand instructions for customers on how to return the product.
Make the return process as simple and convenient as possible.
Consider offering incentives to encourage returns.

Report to KEBS

Immediately report the identified risk and the actions you are taking to KEBS.

Provide KEBS with all relevant information to facilitate follow-up, monitoring, and evaluation.
Cooperate with any KEBS investigations.
